Zest Education is recruiting a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to support a local school in Loughborough. This is a great opportunity for someone with maintenance, DIY, or site management experience who takes pride in keeping school environments safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Carry out general maintenance, basic repairs, and DIY tasks around the school
Ensure the site is safe, secure, and clean at all times
Perform daily site checks and report issues to the Site or Premises Manager
Assist with opening and locking the school premises
Support with deliveries, moving furniture, and setting up rooms
Monitor and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed, including safeguarding, COSHH, and compliance checks
Liaise with contractors when needed
✅ Experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Handyperson, or in a maintenance role
🛠️ Confident with basic repairs, DIY, and upkeep tasks
🔐 Reliable, punctual, and proactive
📋 Good understanding of health & safety in a school environment
💬 Able to work well independently and as part of a team
🛡️ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
