Classroom Support

Job Description

Zest Education is excited to be recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Coventry. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, and they are seeking a dedicated individual to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

In this role, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide tailored support for children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD. You will assist pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence in the classroom.

Daily responsibilities will include supporting learning activities, implementing behaviour management strategies, encouraging positive peer interactions, and ensuring pupils feel safe and included. You will also contribute to observations and individual education plans (IEPs), while building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Candidates must have experience working with children with SEND, and it is preferable if you hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience are essential qualities for success in this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
