Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you a supportive, enthusiastic individual looking for a part‑time role in a welcoming school? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a committed Classroom Support Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping children learn, build confidence and feel supported throughout the school day.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils during lessons, group activities and daily routines. The role involves helping children stay engaged, offering encouragement, and contributing to a positive and nurturing classroom environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils during lessons, group work and classroom activities
  • Providing additional help to children who may need extra guidance
  • Assisting the class teacher with preparation, organisation and daily routines
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence
  • Supporting reading, phonics, writing and basic maths activities
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery or similar setting)
  • A calm, patient and friendly approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and commitment to part‑time, weekly work
  • Ability to start immediately

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
