Computer Science – Smethwick

Zest Education have been asked to find a Computer Science Teacher, that can teach across KS3 – KS5, in a secondary school in Smethwick. The school are looking for someone to join them in October 2024, this will be full time and will continue until February half term.

The school is situated in a popular area, so is easily accessible by private or public transport. The successful candidate will be joining a well-supported departmental team, that encourage all their students to progress both socially and academically, so they grow into confident young adults.

The successful applicant will have:

1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
2. A strong passion for the subject of Computer Science and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS5
3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
5. Strong classroom and behaviour management
6. A positive and adaptive approach to teaching, with the ability to motivate students

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
