Zest Education is working with a secondary school in Shrewsbury who need a full-time cover supervisor to start in the new academic year. This role will be ongoing for the right candidate.

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover Supervisor will be required to work in secondary schools delivering high quality pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old pupils.

The work is pre-planned, by the classroom teacher within school and you will be expected to deliver this to the students. You will also need to manage behaviour in line with the schools policy and provide feedback to the relevant senior leaders.

The successful candidate will cover pre planned lessons in a range of secondary school subjects such as Maths, English and Science.

The successful applicant must have the ability to:

  • Manage the behaviour of students
  • To supervise both KS3 and KS4 lessons
  • Demonstrate the highest standards for health and safety and safeguarding procedures
  • Be both a strong team player and be able to work independently
  • Be consistent in working with a broad range of pupils
  • Motivate and engage positively with students

You will need to have at least 20 days of work / volunteer experience in one or more of the following roles:

  • Sports coaches
  • Youth Workers
  • Camp America
  • Football Coaches
  • Dance Teacher
  • School placements
  • Voluntary work
  • Scout leader
  • Or be a recent graduate
