About the Role

Zest Education is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Halesowen and the surrounding South Birmingham areas who are seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors.

This role is ideal for graduates or individuals with experience supporting young people — such as through coaching, mentoring, youth work or volunteering — who are considering a future career in teaching and want valuable classroom experience.

There is high demand for Cover Supervisors in this area, with September opportunities available.

Your Responsibilities

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Keep students focused, motivated and on task
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff following lessons

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for working with young people
• Good levels of numeracy and literacy
• The confidence to lead a classroom independently

Experience in a school setting is beneficial but not essential.
Applicants must have at least 20 days’ experience working with children or young people or be a recent university graduate.

• Scout or guide leaders
