📖 Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Newport & Surrounding Areas)

Start Date: March 2026
Location: Newport, Shropshire
Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities
Pay: Competitive and aligned with experience

About the Role

Do you have experience coaching or volunteering with children and are now looking to take the next step towards teaching? Or are you a graduate interested in beginning a rewarding career in education? Zest Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors across Newport and the surrounding areas.

We work closely with a number of schools in and around Newport, many of which have a high demand for reliable Cover Supervisors with immediate opportunities available.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive pre-planned lessons
  • Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students
  • Leave effective feedback for the classroom teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a focused learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about the development of young people
  • Strong level of Numeracy and Literacy skills
  • Experience working in a classroom environment (not required but desired)
  • To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 20 days’ experience working with children or young people, or be a recent university graduate. Because Cover Supervisor work is so varied, we welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds — including recent graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, dance teachers, playgroup leaders, and scout leaders.
