Job Description

We’re recruiting for confident and versatile individuals to work with groups of children at a busy secondary school in central Walsall.

We’re looking to recruit a number of cover supervisors who can work well managing groups of children to maintain behaviour, focus within the classroom and uphold the school’s ethos. You will need to be confident within the classroom and be able to build professional relationships with students and colleagues alike.

The school is a thriving secondary which has rapidly improving academic and attainment levels across all year groups and has a consistently growing reputation within the local area. The school benefits from excellent sporting facilities and has interactive resources across the school.

The school are recruiting for full and part time flexible roles also.

The school has excellent public transport links and excellent onsite parking.

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover Supervisor will be required to work in this secondary school delivering high quality pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old pupils.

Work will be pre-planned, by the classroom teacher within school, which you will be expected to deliver to students. You will also need to manage behaviour in line with the schools policy and provide feedback to the relevant senior leaders.

What qualifications do I need?

To be a successful Cover Supervisor we look for experience of 20 days or more working with children and/or young people. This role is a great stepping stone to get into a career in education/teaching. Ideally you will be qualified to a degree level, but this is not a necessity.

Pay and remuneration:

A Cover Supervisor can expect to be paid between £60 – £75 per day. Usual working hours will be between 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
