Salary: £89-£95 / per day
Zest Education is pleased to be working with a range of vibrant and inclusive primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, seeking reliable and caring Day-to-Day Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These schools pride themselves on nurturing environments where children’s individual needs and potential are recognised and supported every day.
As a Day-to-Day Teaching Assistant, your role will be varied and integral to the smooth running of the school day. Typically, you will support classroom teachers by working with pupils across different age groups, often supporting learners both individually and in small groups. This role offers a great opportunity to make a real difference to children’s educational experience by helping them engage fully in lessons and school life.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing in the classroom
Assisting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Helping to manage behaviour and foster a positive environment
Preparing resources and supporting practical classroom tasks
Supervising pupils during playtimes and other activities
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education role, in primary schools
A caring, patient, and positive approach to working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
Confidence to support children with additional needs, including SEND pupils
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, pupils, and sometimes parents
Flexibility to work across different classes/year groups/key stages as needed
A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Zest Education are an APSCo audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
