Design & Technology Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a school in the Tamworth area to look for a Design and Technology Teacher with a product design specialism, to start full time from September 2024 for one term.

The School is focused on ensuring all students are prepared for the world outside of the school. They support the Social and emotional development of their students and support their academic and non academic endeavours.

The chosen candidate will be joining the wider Design and Technology department with a supportive team. Subject knowledge up to KS4 is essential with knowledge at KS5 also being an advantage as it is rising in popularity with A Level students. Ideally the school would like the successful applicant to be creative and innovative with their teaching methods, whilst maintain a positive learning environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
