Job Description

Are you an ECT trying to get more experience, waiting for your opportunity at a school or looking for work? Zest Education are working closely with schools across Birmingham, with an extremely high demand for ECTs. Roles required include day to day cover, short-term or long-term placements to start as soon as possible, which will be an ongoing need. Both part- and full-time positions can be offered, with lots going into permanent roles.

The schools we work with area based in great locations and are very accessible for both private and public transport. They support all the teachers in the school and believe in helping you in your development.

The successful candidate will match the school in what it offers, giving the best to the pupils while motivating them to continually achieve. Being reliable, creative, and enthusiastic are great qualities to have when trying to excel in roles.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS
  • A strong passion for his/her subjects and excellent subject knowledge across KS3-KS5
  • A team work ethic to get the best for the students.
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Be highly motivated to also learn while teaching

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
