Zest Education are working closely with a secondary school in the Small Heath area who are looking to recruit an English teacher to join the school in September 2022 on a temporary full-time basis for one academic year.

The English department within the school have a vision to nurture today’s young people and inspire tomorrow’s leaders. They put oracy, literacy, and vocabulary at the heart of their curriculum to ensure that their students can succeed.

Students benefit from an academic curriculum that enables them to achieve high standards and broaden their skills and experience through enrichment activities. Personalised approaches are taken, where students are set aspirational, but achievable targets through a curriculum pathway that meets their individual needs.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A great team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • A strong passion for the subject of English and able to teach the curriculum from KS3-KS5
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management

 

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Rate of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
