Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and conscientious School Cleaner to join a primary school that we closely work with in the Erdington area. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our school provides a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in their work and can maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas
  • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washroom facilities
  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
  • Dusting and wiping surfaces
  • Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies
  • Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns
  • Ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

  • Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Take pride in maintaining a clean environment
  • Have a positive and flexible approach to work
  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided

You Will Need:

  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
  • Have a strong understanding of health, safety and hygiene practices.
  • To be motivated, resilient and have a positive attitude.
  • To work independently using initiative, while contributing as part of a team.
