EYFS Teaching Assistant Job – October 2026 Start

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our team from October 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to support their learning, development and wellbeing during the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

You do not need to hold a formal Teaching Assistant or EYFS qualification to apply. Relevant experience is preferred, but qualifications are not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and has a positive, nurturing approach.

About the EYFS Teaching Assistant Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider team to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment.

You will help children develop their confidence, independence and social skills while supporting their learning through play and planned activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children with their learning and development across the EYFS curriculum
• Working alongside the class teacher to provide engaging learning activities
• Supporting children individually, in small groups and as part of the whole class
• Encouraging children to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
• Supporting children’s communication, language and social development
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting classroom routines and daily activities
• Building positive relationships with children, colleagues and families
• Helping every child to feel valued, supported and encouraged

Qualifications and Experience

An EYFS, Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
