Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a large secondary school in Sutton Coldfield, the school have asked us to find a Food Technology Teacher, that can teach across KS3-KS4. You will be working up to 3 days a week of your choosing, the position will start in September 2024, this will be for a minimum of one term, but this is likely to be extended for the right candidate.

This “Good” Ofsted rated school is situated in a popular area of Sutton Coldfield, so is easily accessible by private or public transport. The school offers great indoor and outdoor facilities, to allow for creative and fun lessons. The successful candidate will also be joining a supportive departmental team that’s main ethos is to encourage all their students to develop into positive, and confident young adults.

The successful Food Technology Teacher will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Food Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Creative and innovative teaching methods, the ability to motivate students

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
