Full-Time Teaching Assistant
1:1 Support – Year 3 class

Location: Balsall Heath, Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, term time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 3 class on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a pupil who requires additional support to manage behavioural needs, ADHD, and focus within the classroom.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to enable the pupil to access learning
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and positive engagement
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies
  • Adapt learning activities to maintain focus and motivation
  • Encourage positive social interactions and independence
  • Maintain a calm, structured and nurturing approach throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with ADHD, behavioural needs or SEMH
  • A calm, proactive and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education
  • Relevant TA qualifications or classroom experience (desirable but not essential)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
