Full-Time Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Turves Green, Birmingham

£95 – £110 per day | Full-Time | Immediate Start Available

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking a caring and committed Full-Time Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who has physical disabilities at a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in the Turves Green area of Birmingham.

This rewarding role would suit someone who is calm, nurturing and patient, and who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated support for a child with physical disabilities
  • Assist with learning, communication and personal development
  • Use your SEND experience to support the child’s individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Promote inclusion, independence and confidence
  • Support mobility and personal care when required
  • Utilise hoist training safely and effectively

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Current hoist training or relevant moving and handling experience
  • A calm, nurturing and approachable personality
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Compassion, patience and empathy
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
