Zest Education is currently recruiting for a General Teaching Assistant to work at a primary school in Cannock. The role is to start as soon as possible for the ideal candidate.

This will be a full-time role and we are seeking candidates with a Level 2 or above in childcare and significant experience working as a teaching assistant. You  will be required to work across primary year groups where needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, supporting students’ individual needs, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
2. Behavior Management: Implement strategies to manage student behavior and encourage positive interactions among peers.
3. Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students who require additional academic or emotional support.
4. Resource Preparation: Prepare classroom materials and resources to support the delivery of lessons.
5. Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as record-keeping, organising files, and preparing reports.
6. Supervision: Support students during break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
7. Differentiated Instruction: Collaborate with the teacher to adapt lesson plans and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
8. Communication: Maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in a student’s education.
9. Inclusive Practices: Foster an inclusive and accepting classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
10. Professional Development: Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth to enhance your skills as a teaching assistant.

Requirements:

– Level 2 or above in childcare.
– Proven experience working as a teaching assistant.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
– Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
– Flexibility to work across different classrooms and year groups as required.
