Zest Education are looking to expand our pool of Graduate Cover Supervisors for the 2023/2024 academic year. If you’re looking for some experience in an education based setting then we have the role for you!

Zest Education are looking for enthusiastic and engaging graduates to work as Cover Supervisors across Staffordshire. Many of our graduates have gone on to complete their teacher training after working as cover supervisors in our schools, this is a great way to gain experience and decide which pathway is right for you.

Cover Supervision is a great stepping stone into working as a teacher.

The Role: Graduate Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover supervisor will work with our secondary schools delivering pre planned lessons to groups of students ages 11- 18.

Any work will be pre-planned by the class teacher or another within the school.  As a cover supervisor you will deliver this to the students whilst managing their behaviour and providing feedback to any relevant members of staff.

To be successful in this role we look for a graduate who has at least 20 days or more of experience working with children and or young people. This is a great way to start your career into teaching.

This experience can come in a variety of different forms:
  • Scout group leading
  • Football coaching
  • Sports coaching
  • Volunteering
  • Placements
  • Work experience
  • Dance teachers

Pay and remuneration:

A Cover Supervisor can expect to be paid between £75– £85 per day. Usual working hours will be between 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
