We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, and adaptable graduates to work as Cover Supervisors across Birmingham including Sutton Coldfield, Erdington, Aston, Great Barr, Handsworth, Edgbaston, Harborne, Selly Oak, Moseley, Balsall Heath, Small Heath, Sparkbrook and Chelmsley Wood.

Many of our graduates working for Zest Education have gone on to gain their formal teaching qualifications.

Cover Supervisors roles are a great a steppingstone into working in education or becoming a teacher.

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover Supervisor will be required to work in a secondary school delivering high quality pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old pupils. (KS3-5).

Work will be pre-planned by the classroom teacher within the  school and you will be expected to deliver this to the students, manage behaviour and provide feedback to relevant people within the school.

What qualifications do I need?

To be a successful Cover Supervisor we look for experience of a minimum of 3 weeks or more working with children and/or young people.

Successful Cover Supervisors come from a variety of backgrounds including:

  • University graduates
  • Sports Coaches
  • Youth Workers
  • Camp America
  • Football Coaching
  • Dance Teacher
  • School placements
  • Voluntary work
  • Scout leader

Pay and remuneration:

A Cover Supervisor can expect to be paid between £300- £400 a week. Usual working hours will be between 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
