Start Date: September
Location: Stafford
Contract Type: Full-time and Part-time Roles Available
Zest Education is proud to be supporting a highly regarded primary school in Stafford in their search for a committed and talented Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking school that places children at the heart of everything they do, while also valuing and investing in the professional growth of its staff.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HLTA who is confident in leading whole-class learning, supporting teachers across the curriculum, and providing tailored interventions to help every child reach their potential.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both teaching and learning:
Delivering Lessons: Lead engaging, well-structured lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high expectations for pupils.
Group Support: Work with small groups and individual pupils, delivering targeted interventions to support progress in core subjects.
Planning & Preparation: Assist class teachers in preparing resources, adapting activities to suit pupil needs, and contributing ideas to enhance the curriculum.
Pupil Feedback: Mark and assess work in line with school policy, offering constructive feedback to encourage pupil development.
Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour, consistency, and a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to deliver whole-school priorities and raise standards of teaching and learning.
School Life Contribution: Take part in staff meetings, training, and wider school activities, playing an active role in the life of the school community.
We are looking for a passionate and professional HLTA who can bring energy, dedication, and expertise to the role:
HLTA qualification (or equivalent substantial experience in a similar role).
Proven ability to lead whole-class learning with confidence and creativity.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Outstanding communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach to supporting teaching and learning.
Commitment to safeguarding, pupil welfare, and equal opportunities.
A genuine passion for making a positive difference in children’s lives.
This Stafford primary school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and high standards. By joining their team, you will benefit from:
A supportive and collaborative staff team that values every contribution.
Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression.
A positive, welcoming school environment with well-behaved, motivated pupils.
Strong leadership that champions staff wellbeing and work-life balance.
The chance to make a lasting impact in a role that is both rewarding and varied.
If you are a passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is ready to take the next step in your career and thrive in a school that truly values its staff, we would love to hear from you.
