Zest education is currently working with a secondary school in Burton-on-Trent who require a History teacher for the new academic year. The role is Full- time and is due to start September 2022 up until December 2022vinitially, with the potential to extend.

This opportunity would allow the successful applicant to work within a dynamic inner-city school who have a growing reputation for providing all children with access to a creative and engaging curriculum. This school caters for a broad range of students including a high number of EAL pupils.

The successful applicant will be expected to plan and deliver engaging history lessons whilst maintaining a positive learning environment. Additionally, the successful applicant will be joining a very supportive and hardworking departmental team.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of History and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 would be ideal but isn’t a necessity)
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
