Learner Support Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive school in Rugby is looking for a committed Learner Support Assistant to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis. The role is ideal for someone with strong SEND experience and confidence supporting pupils in a classroom environment. You’ll be working closely with teachers and the SENDCo to provide tailored support, help pupils access learning, and contribute to a calm, structured and positive environment where every child can succeed.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Previous classroom experience in a school setting
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• A calm, patient and encouraging approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow teacher direction and use initiative
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Key responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND during lessons
• Providing 1:1 and small‑group interventions
• Helping pupils stay focused, regulated and engaged
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum tasks
• Working closely with teachers and the SENDCo
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
