Learning Mentor

Job Description

Learning Mentor – Primary School

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Mentor to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement with learning. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives.

About the Role

  • Provide targeted pastoral support to pupils who may be experiencing emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties

  • Work one-to-one and in small groups to improve confidence, resilience, and self-esteem

  • Support pupils’ engagement with learning and help remove barriers to achievement

  • Liaise closely with teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders to support individual pupil plans

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records

  • Support positive behaviour strategies and help pupils develop self-regulation skills

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent, supportive adult

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers when appropriate

  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times
