🌟 The Role – Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide tailored support to pupils across the primary age range. You’ll help create an engaging and positive learning experience while encouraging children to reach their full potential.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children’s learning and development.


🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the classroom
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and learning resources
  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and classroom engagement
  • Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, and participation in learning
  • Help children build confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support pupil progress

🎓 What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for supporting children’s education and well-being
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
