Part-Time Level 3 Teaching Assistant (1–1 Behaviour Support – Year 3)

Location: Druids Heath, South Birmingham
Hours: 8.15am – 12.45pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Start Date: ASAP

Zest Education are currently recruiting for a part-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work at a busy and supportive primary school in Druids Heath. The school serves a community with significant levels of deprivation and supports a high number of pupils with SEND, behavioural challenges and complex needs.

This is a rewarding role working 1–1 with a Year 3 pupil who requires consistent behavioural support, close supervision and structured guidance throughout the morning session.


About the Role

The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to a pupil with high behavioural needs. The child requires constant moderation, reassurance and positive behaviour strategies both inside the classroom and during transitions, breaktimes and outdoor activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering 1–1 support to help the child remain calm, regulated and ready to learn
  • Using behaviour management strategies to support emotional and social needs
  • Supporting learning tasks and helping the pupil remain focused
  • Supervising movement around school and managing potential triggers
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider pastoral team
  • Providing a consistent, nurturing and structured adult presence

This position requires patience, resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.


What We’re Looking For

Applicants must have:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent/NVQ)
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs, SEMH or SEND
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
  • The ability to use consistent behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
  • Availability every morning during term time
