Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Reception Class

Harborne, Birmingham | Long‑Term Role | ASAP Start

Zest Education is currently recruiting an experienced Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to work in a Reception class at a welcoming and supportive primary school in Harborne, Birmingham.

This is a long‑term opportunity, starting as soon as possible and continuing until at least December 2026, with strong potential to extend further for the right candidate.


🌟 The Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both pupils with additional needs and the class as a whole in an Early Years setting. This position includes personal care responsibilities, so professionalism, patience and compassion are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children in a Reception class, including those with additional needs (SEN)
  • Providing personal care support where required, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive learning activities
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
  • Preparing classroom resources and learning materials
  • Tidying and maintaining a safe, organised classroom environment
  • Contributing to a positive, nurturing Early Years setting

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
  • Has experience working in Reception or Early Years (essential)
  • Is confident supporting children with SEN and additional needs
  • Is comfortable with personal care duties (essential)
  • Is patient, adaptable and enthusiastic
  • Works well as part of a team and uses their initiative
  • Is seeking a stable, long‑term role in a primary school
