Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school that is committed to supporting children with additional needs. The school has a strong reputation for providing a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about SEND support.

This role will begin in January 2026 and is offered as a full‑time position, Monday to Friday, on a long‑term contract. You will be working in the classroom to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence in their learning.

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will take on additional responsibilities beyond classroom support, including assisting with lesson planning, leading small group interventions, and mentoring less experienced support staff. You will also play a key role in encouraging positive peer interactions and building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with additional needs.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent childcare/education qualification).
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques to create a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Experience contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting differentiated learning.
  • A genuine passion for helping children with SEND reach their full potential.
