Nursery Manager

Nursery Manager: Permanent role, Monday-Friday, Term time only

The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while ensuring the smooth running of our nursery environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of childcare, staff supervision, and fostering a safe, nurturing atmosphere for children and staff alike.

Duties

• Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare services
• Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood education principles
• Oversee the planning and organisation of activities that promote children’s development and well-being
• Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children’s progress and nursery policies
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently upheld within the nursery environment
• Organise staff rotas, recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to foster a competent team
• Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and reporting as required
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery services and operational efficiency

Requirements

• Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or childcare setting
• Strong understanding of early childhood education and childcare regulations in the UK
• Experience working directly with children in a childcare or educational capacity
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to organise workloads effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
• Passionate about child development with a caring and nurturing approach
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism and patience
