Operations Manager

Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to join a thriving trust in Sandwell. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in the day-to-day management and operational success of the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a range of operational functions, ensuring the school runs efficiently, safely, and effectively. This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the school’s daily operations, ensuring services run efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing facilities, health and safety, site maintenance, cleaning, catering, and security functions.
  • Leading and supporting operational and administrative staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and school policies.
  • Managing contracts and liaising with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Supporting budget management and procurement processes.
  • Overseeing risk assessments and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across the site.
  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Contributing to business continuity planning and operational development projects.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Operations Manager is essential.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, facilities management, and operational best practices.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing teams and external contractors.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
