Part-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Afternoons Only – Year 3)

Job Description

Location: Curdworth area
Start Date: September 2025
Working Hours: Afternoons only, Monday to Friday
Contract: Initially one term, with the potential to become ongoing

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 with autism, starting in September 2025.

This role will involve working every afternoon, Monday to Friday, at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Curdworth area.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the individual learning and emotional needs of the pupil, helping them to engage positively with the curriculum and develop key skills in a structured and supportive environment. Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of autism are essential for this role, along with a proactive and flexible approach to working within a school setting.

This position is expected to run for at least one full term, but for the right person, there is a strong likelihood that it will become a longer-term or ongoing role.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience working in a similar 1:1 capacity or within SEND support, ideally in a primary school environment. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, resilience, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child and school staff.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and have the skills and commitment to support a child with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in this position or want to find out more, email Jo at Joanne@zesteducation.co.uk or ‘apply for job’ at the top of the page to submit your details.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
