Teaching Assistant – Yardley

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Yardley, Birmingham.

The role will be based in Key Stage 1 (KS1).

You will work closely with the class teacher.

You will support pupils with their learning, classroom tasks and daily routines.

This is a part-time Teaching Assistant role.

The school can be flexible with the days you work.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the teacher and pupils throughout the school day.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons.
  • Helping children with their classwork.
  • Working with small groups.
  • Giving extra support to pupils who need it.
  • Helping children stay focused.
  • Supporting reading, writing and maths.
  • Helping with classroom activities.
  • Supporting daily classroom routines.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Supporting pupils during break and lunch.
  • Helping to create a positive learning environment.

You will help pupils feel confident in the classroom.

You will also help children become more independent.

School Experience

Previous experience working in a school is ideal.

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant or School Support Assistant would be an advantage.

Experience working with KS1 children is also desirable.
