Primary Teacher

Zest Education is currently supporting a number of inclusive and supportive primary schools in Burton-on-Trent who are urgently seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher with a strong SEN background to start immediately.

This is an ideal opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is confident in working with children with special educational needs and is ready to hit the ground running in a nurturing and well-resourced school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to support a range of learning needs

• Work closely with SENCOs and teaching assistants to implement tailored learning strategies

• Support children with a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties

• Contribute to the development and monitoring of EHCPs and individual support plans

• Promote a calm, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

• Effectively manage behaviour and encourage positive social interaction

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

• Previous experience teaching in UK primary schools

• Strong understanding of and experience with special educational needs (SEN)

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Zest Education)

• Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about supporting all learners

Desirable:

• Experience within a nurture group or specialist provision

• Knowledge of tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other SEN interventions

• Confidence in managing a mixed-ability class with varying support needs

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
