Primary Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience – Stone

Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
£93-£97 per day

Zest Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stone, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become a valued member of a supportive school community while making a meaningful difference to the lives of young learners.

The successful candidate will provide classroom support across the primary age range, working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access learning, build confidence and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in whole-class, small-group and 1:1 learning activities.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and pupil engagement.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO and other professionals to implement learning and support plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or youth support setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed both academically and personally.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
