Primary Teaching Assistant

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the school on a flexible, as-and-when basis, covering across all year groups and subjects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 classes.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils where needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support children with additional needs (work with SEND students).
  • Contribute to the overall life of the school, fostering its caring and community-focused ethos.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of supporting SEND pupils is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to different year groups and classroom environments.
  • A valid DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
