Reception Teacher (EYFS) – Full-Time

Location: South Birmingham (Bournville area)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Minimum 2 Terms
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Class Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary setting in the South Birmingham area. This is a full-time teaching opportunity starting September 2026, initially for a minimum of two terms, with potential for extension.

This role is ideal for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced primary teachers who are passionate about early years education and committed to delivering outstanding learning experiences within the EYFS framework.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching within a Reception class (EYFS)
  • Plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is creative, engaging, and consistent in their approach to teaching and behaviour management. The successful candidate will be reliable, intelligent, and bring a good sense of humour to the classroom, helping to foster strong relationships with pupils and colleagues alike.

You will demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
  • The ability to create inspiring and interactive learning experiences
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude
  • A genuine passion for working with young learners

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in EYFS or a strong placement background (for ECTs)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
