Reception Teacher – Long-Term Opportunity in a Supportive School

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming primary school that is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Reception teacher who thrives in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is eager to make a meaningful difference in young children’s learning journeys.

About the Role

As the Reception Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver a creative, balanced, and child-centred curriculum that meets the requirements of the EYFS framework.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and active learning through both play-based and structured activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that cater to the individual needs and developmental stages of each child.
  • Make effective use of observation, assessment, and tracking to monitor progress and inform next steps.
  • Collaborate closely with the Early Years team, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to each child’s learning and well-being.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting key events, performances, and enrichment opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within Early Years, ideally in a Reception class.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the EYFS curriculum and the principles of early child development.
  • Be confident in planning engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Have strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing, positive classroom presence.
  • Be reflective, proactive, and passionate about ensuring the best possible outcomes for every child.
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents alike.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
