Part‑Time Resource Base Teaching Assistant (4 Days a Week)

Location: Kings Norton
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Until July 2026

Zest Education are recruiting for a part‑time Resource Base Teaching Assistant. The role is joining a welcoming two‑form entry primary school in the Kings Norton area. This rewarding role is for four days per week and will involve supporting children with additional needs, including elements of personal care.

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about helping pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a supportive resource base environment.

The successful applicant must be NVQ Level 3 qualified (or above). You will need to be confident in supporting children with a range of SEND needs and will ideally have previous experience.

The resource base is well‑established and designed to provide a calm, structured and nurturing environment for children who require tailored support. Staff work closely with the leadership team and SENDCo to ensure every child is given the tools they need to succeed. Collaboration, kindness and consistency are at the heart of the school’s ethos.

The role includes:

  • Supporting pupils within the resource base who have a variety of additional needs
  • Providing tailored interventions and 1:1 or small group support
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENDCo and wider school teams
  • Helping to maintain a positive, safe and supportive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive daily routines

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or above)
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Be comfortable and confident providing personal care
  • Be patient, adaptable and resilient in a busy school environment
  • Bring a nurturing and positive approach to supporting children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
