School Business Manager

Zest Education is recruiting an experienced and highly organised School Business Manager to support a thriving school in Erdington. This role is ideal for someone with strong financial, administrative, and operational leadership skills who can contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the school.

💼 Key Responsibilities

• Lead on school finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Manage procurement, contracts, and supplier relationships to ensure value for money
• Oversee HR administration, including recruitment processes, onboarding, and staff records
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and school policies
• Line‑manage administrative, finance, and site staff where required
• Support with premises management, health & safety, and risk assessments
• Work closely with senior leaders to support strategic planning and school improvement
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance at all times

👤 Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a School Business Manager or senior school administrator
• Strong financial management skills and confidence using finance systems
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, governors, and external agencies
• Knowledge of HR processes, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
• Proactive, solution‑focused, and able to manage competing priorities
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
