Science Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking to recruit a science teacher for a high performing secondary school in Stoke on Trent to start January 2025 for a minimum of one term.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to take on a new challenge in a new school or complete part of their ECT year. As this is a long-term role it would include planning and marking the science lessons so,  having excellent subject knowledge at KS3 and KS4 is essential.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  •  A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS.
  • An enthusiasm for science with exceptional knowledge across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Desire to work as part of a wider team, supporting them as and when they need
  • The ability to effectively mark, plan and deliver lessons of a high quality.
  • Classroom and behaviour management experience.

This school is open to supporting an ECT in this role however, it is also open to NQTS and experienced teachers as well.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
