Are you a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher looking for your next challenge?
We are seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team at a challenging school based in Cannock. This rewarding opportunity is to start as soon as possible and will be ongoing, with the potential for a long-term or permanent position.
You will be working with pupils who require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support — helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their full potential.
This role would suit a teacher with experience in SEN, PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision settings, or someone with a strong background in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
Manage behaviour effectively using restorative and therapeutic approaches.
Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Track and assess pupil progress, setting achievable goals for each student.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
A commitment to making a positive difference in students’ lives.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
Supportive senior leadership and a dedicated pastoral team.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
