SEMH Teacher – Cannock (Start ASAP | Full-Time | 

Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)


About the Role

Are you a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher looking for your next challenge?
We are seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team at a challenging school based in Cannock. This rewarding opportunity is to start as soon as possible and will be ongoing, with the potential for a long-term or permanent position.

You will be working with pupils who require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support — helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their full potential.

This role would suit a teacher with experience in SEN, PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision settings, or someone with a strong background in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Manage behaviour effectively using restorative and therapeutic approaches.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

  • Track and assess pupil progress, setting achievable goals for each student.


Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.

  • A commitment to making a positive difference in students’ lives.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
