Zest Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team as soon as possible.
This lovely, community-focused primary school is well-known for its nurturing environment and strong commitment to supporting every child’s individual needs. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and engaging learning atmosphere where pupils feel valued, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential. The school has excellent facilities and a passionate leadership team who place pupil wellbeing and inclusion at the heart of everything they do.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children who have additional learning needs, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, adapting resources, and implementing strategies to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum effectively. This is a full-time role, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for further opportunities through Zest Education.
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
Support children’s social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies.
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (preferred).
Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to working within a school environment.

Zest Education are an APSCo audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
