SEND Teacher

About the role

A supportive and inclusive school in Warwickshire is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to join their team. This role involves working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, delivering tailored learning that helps each child progress academically, socially and emotionally.

You’ll work closely with the SENDCo, support staff and wider teaching team to create a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment. The school is looking for someone who is confident adapting the curriculum, using creative strategies and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong experience teaching pupils with SEND
• Ability to plan and deliver differentiated, personalised learning
• Confident managing behaviour using positive, consistent approaches
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external professionals
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Day‑to‑day duties

• Teaching and supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Planning and delivering personalised lessons and interventions
• Creating a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
• Working closely with teaching assistants to support learning
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development
• Communicating effectively with parents, carers and professionals
• Contributing to wider school life and SEND provision

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
