📍 Location: Birmingham City Centre
🕓 Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (January 2026 – December 2026)
💰 Salary: Dependant on experience
Zest education are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated SENDCo to join our friendly and inclusive primary school community in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting in January 2026, lasting for one year.
As the schools SENDCo, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
Support teachers and teaching assistants in delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching.
Work closely with pupils, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure effective support and communication.
Maintain and update SEND records, provision maps, and EHCPs.
Monitor, assess, and evaluate the progress of children with SEND.
Contribute to the wider leadership and development of the school community.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .
A strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice.
Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
A compassionate, proactive, and reflective approach to leadership.
A supportive, inclusive and welcoming school environment.
A committed and enthusiastic staff team.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
