About the Role

Zest education are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated SENDCo to join our friendly and inclusive primary school community in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting in January 2026, lasting for one year.

As the schools SENDCo, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Support teachers and teaching assistants in delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching.

  • Work closely with pupils, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure effective support and communication.

  • Maintain and update SEND records, provision maps, and EHCPs.

  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate the progress of children with SEND.

  • Contribute to the wider leadership and development of the school community.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .

  • A strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice.

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

  • A compassionate, proactive, and reflective approach to leadership.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
