Job Description

A well‑regarded primary school in Turves Green is seeking an experienced, reliable, and proactive Site Manager to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management, safety, and maintenance of the school premises. This is a key operational role, ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, clean, and well‑maintained environment for pupils and staff.

🔧 About the Role

As the Site Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the school site
  • Carry out daily checks, minor repairs, and general maintenance tasks
  • Manage contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems
  • Ensure the school complies with health & safety regulations and statutory checks
  • Open and lock the school site, including responsibility for keys and alarms
  • Support with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and preparing spaces for events
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Work closely with the School Business Manager and leadership team

👨‍🔧 What the School Is Looking For

  • Strong experience in a school site manager or premises role (essential)
  • Good understanding of health & safety, safeguarding, and compliance
  • Practical skills in basic repairs, DIY, and general maintenance
  • Ability to manage contractors and oversee planned works
  • Reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
