Site Manager

Zest Education is recruiting a reliable and proactive Site Manager to join a welcoming school in Walsall. This role is ideal for someone with strong practical maintenance skills who takes pride in keeping the school safe, secure, and well-maintained.

 Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site, buildings, and grounds

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks, including joinery, basic plumbing, and painting

• Ensure Health & Safety compliance, completing checks and maintaining accurate records

• Supervise and coordinate cleaning and site staff, ensuring high standards throughout the school

• Manage the opening and closing of the site, including security alarms and safety systems

• Liaise with contractors and suppliers, overseeing repairs and improvement works

• Support with the set-up of school events and ensure all facilities are safe and ready for use

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Previous experience as a Site Manager, Caretaker, or Facilities Manager (school experience desirable)
✅ Strong practical skills and a “hands-on” approach
✅ Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and building compliance regulations
✅ Reliable, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining high standards
✅ Good communication and organisational skills
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
