Are you an experienced sports coach looking for work in Stafford and surrounding areas? Zest Education are on the look out for experienced sports coaches to join us for April 2024 , this is for one term, full time with the likelihood to be extended until the end of the academic year.

The past academic year has seen an increase in the demand from our network of schools who are looking for experienced individuals that are looking to gain more experience in an educational setting, leading groups of students from the ages of 11- 18 as a cover supervisor.

There are a range of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated schools in this area with high standards of education and learning. The ideal candidate will have know how to manage classroom behaviour as well as keeping the students on topic.

Ideally the candidate will have experience of working with and leading groups of children and young people in a variety of different settings. Cover supervisors come from a range of backgrounds such as:

  • Youth workers
  • Sports coaches
  • Scout leaders
  • Play group leaders

The role of a sports coach cover supervisor is important within schools. You will be expected to supervise both KS3 and KS4 P.E lessons. Cover supervisors oversee and carry out pre-planned lessons when teaching staff are on short-term absence. In a PE setting this will involve maintaining health and safety standards at all times whilst ensuring students are having fun undertaking physical exercise in lessons.

While we aim to keep you in the PE department as much as possible cover supervisors also do general cover lessons throughout the school for other subjects as and when they are needed.
