Student Support Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Support Assistant to join a hardworking team at a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Rubery. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, and offers the perfect opportunity to build a long-term relationship with a supportive school community.

As a Student Support Assistant, you will work across Key Stage 2 (KS2), supporting and encouraging children in their learning and development. This role is available to start as soon as possible and is ongoing.

Key Responsibilities

As a Student Support Assistant, you will:

  • Encourage positive student conduct and manage disputes according to school policies.

  • Create and maintain a structured, focused, and supportive classroom environment.

  • Assist with the implementation of structured learning activities across KS2.

  • Prepare and maintain classroom resources and assist pupils in their use.

  • Build strong working relationships with teachers, senior leaders, and parents.

Requirements

To succeed as a Student Support Assistant, you should:

  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Have a general understanding of the National Curriculum and learning programmes.

  • Have experience working with children in an educational setting (highly desirable).

  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
