Teacher of Biology

Job Description

Zest Education are currently looking for a Teacher of Biology to join a secondary school in the Redditch area. This is a full-time role, and planning and marking will be required. The school is part of a Multi Academy Trust and prides itself on its successful Science department. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Biology up to KS5. They should have a strong subject knowledge and be able to effectively plan and deliver engaging lessons. The role is due to commence in January 2025 and is expected to run for the rest of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons to students from KS3 to KS5
– Mark and assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress
– Collaborate with the Science department to create and implement schemes of work
– Contribute to the development of resources and teaching materials
– Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the school’s overall improvement

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Experience teaching Biology up to KS5 is essential
– Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Biology
– Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
– Excellent organisational and communication skills
– Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
