Zest Education are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join an excellent Secondary School in the Halesowen area. This is a full time position, where planning and marking will be required. The role is due to commence in May 2024, and will last until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students across KS3, KS4 and KS5. This will involve planning lessons, conducting discussions, and assessing students’ comprehension and performance through tests and assignments. You will also be responsible for marking students’ work, providing constructive feedback, and helping them improve their English skills.

Responsibilities:

– Conducting engaging and interactive English Language and Literature classes for students.
– Creating lesson plans and preparing teaching materials in line with curriculum objectives.
– Assessing and evaluating students’ progress through tests and assignments.
– Providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their language and literary skills.
– Assisting students in developing critical thinking, reading, and writing abilities.
– Collaborating with colleagues to develop effective teaching strategies and share resources.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Degree in English Language and/or Literature.
– Experience teaching English Language and Literature at secondary school level (preferably GCSE and A-Level).
– Strong knowledge of the current curriculum and assessment practices.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
– Strong organisational and time management skills.
